Holly A. Johnson joined BSD staff in 1984. Since then she has been teaching various dance styles and has choreographed many pieces for BSD productions. She has joined owner Bridget Struthers in a co-director role since 2018, including the Nutcracker Ballet, the bi-annual Child’s Christmas in Wales, annual spring shows, and the post-covid production entitled “Cave of Dreams” in 2021, a collaboration with the BMC’s Music School, for which she choreographed “Night Song” (original music by harpist Rachel Clemente), and wrote the production’s narrative and poetry. Her earlier career includes acting with Stage One Theater Co., Boston, MA, teaching at Fusion Dance in San Diego, CA, co-founding “After Image” Dance Co., performing with the Harvard Radcliffe Dance Co. and with various regional dance ensembles. Her dance training includes tap, jazz, ballet and modern styles. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Education and Dance Therapy. She was a guest teacher/choreographer at Vermont Academy for winter semester and their Spring Performance Arts Night: 2025. In 2026, she co-directed a multi- faceted program for Vermont Academy Dance Team, culminating with a performance of original choreography for Spring Performance Arts Night.
